732,637. Plate heat-exchangers. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MACHINEFABRIEK BOLNES VOORHEEN J. H. VAN CAPPELLEN. Oct. 6, 1953 [Oct. 30, 1952], No. 27365/53. Class 64 (3). Relates to plate heat exchangers comprising a stack of plates each of which is provided with two ports 1, 2 interconnected by channels 5 for one of the heat-exchanging fluids and with two by-pass ports 3, 4 for the passage of the other fluid across the plate to and from the channels of adjacent plates in the usual manner. According to the invention each plate is provided adjacent one edge with a projecting dowel pin 8 and adjacent at least one other edge with a hole 6 which receives the projecting dowel of an adjacent plate. Each plate may have one hole 6 located adjacent the plate edge symmetrically opposite to that in which the dowel is fixed (as shown) or it may have two holes located along the plate edges adjacent to that in which the dowel is fixed. By this arrangement the individual plates are maintained in alignment the stack of plates being bolted together between headers which may be similarly located with respect to the plates by dowel members. Gaskets are preferably interposed between the plates and headers. The gaskets and pins may be made of electricallyinsulating material.
