Abstract

732,340. Pit-props. EGGEMANN, W., and CAMPENHAUSEN, E. VON., [trading as SCHWARZ KOMM.-GES., H.]. Sept. 29,' 1952, No. 20654/54. Divided out of 732,251. Class 20 (2). A telescopic prop comprises a clamp 12 fixed on the lower prop member 10 and adapted to be tightened on the upper member 11 by a claw 17 adapted to be moved over inclined surfaces on flanges 15, 16 of the clamp 12 by a wedge 20 moved transversely to the longitudinal axis of the prop, the claw 17 being moved parallel to the axis of the prop over flanges 15, 16 which increase in thickness downwards. The flanges 15, 16 also increase in thickness radially outwards to maintain the claw on the flanges. The wedge 20 is also used beneath the claw to release it. In a modification the claw 37, Fig. 7, is moved radially outwards of the prop over inclined surfaces of the flanges 35, 36 by a wedge 40.
