Abstract

752,576. Furniture joints. STEEL & CO., Ltd., W. March 23, 1954 [Feb. 15, 1954], No. 4443/54. Class 52(2). A joint for detachably connecting two members of an article of demountable furniture comprises a plate rigidly secured to one member and having an openended V-shaped slot engaged by a notching wedge secured to one face of the other member. The wedge having a peripheral flange spaced from the face of the member and overlying the edges of the slot. As shown, a wedge 5 secured to a face of a bed iron 2 has a flange 7 overlying the edges of a tapered slot 3a in a plate 3 secured to a bed-stead leg 1.
