[Also in Group X] A device on motor spray vehicles which apply binders or the like sprayed materials to road surfaces, for indicating the quantity of the binder or the like delivered to the road surface, comprises first and second coaxially arranged pointers, the first pointer being driven from the vehicle speedometer shaft, there being an interposed adjustable transmission gear for introducing the loading factor, and the second pointer being driven from the shaft of a pump which delivers the spraying material. The quantity actually being delivered by the pump 4, Fig. 3, is indicated on a scale 15, Fig. 1, by a pointer 23 positioned through a pinion 21 and a rack 20 controlled by a logarithmic cam 19 on shaft 18 of the pump speed indicator. The desired quantity to be sprayed for a fixed spray width is dependent upon the vehicle speed and on the desired quantity per unit area. A logarithmic cam 8 on the vehicle speed indicator shaft 7 positions a rod 9 which through a pivoted rod 11 the pivot 10 of which is adjustable with respect to a logarithmic scale along a rod 17, positions a rack 12 which meshes with a pinion 13 connected to a pointer 16 coaxial with the pointer 23. The pivot 10 is adjusted to the desired quantity per unit area on the scale 17 and the graduation on the scale 15 opposite the pointer 1.6 indicates the desired quantity. If the pointers 16, 23 are kept in coincidence the pump 4 is actually delivering the desired quantity. In another arrangement, Fig. 4, a tachometer indicator 35 of a tachometer 34, driven from the pump speedometer is positioned coaxially with a tachometer indicator 29 of a tachometer 28 driven through an infinitely variable friction gear comprising a roller 30 and a disc 26 from the vehicle speedometer 25. The roller 30 has a pointer by which it is adjustable with respect to the logarithmic scale 33 in accordance with the desired quantity per unit area.
