Abstract

An indicator is added to circular or semi-circular speedometers to permit the motor vehicle driver to observe that a pre-set speed limit is being exceeded. The limit is adjusted by turning a knob on the speedometer. A rotatable knob (2) is mounted on the protective glass or plastic dial (15) cover of a speedometer by means of a sucker and is placed at the axis of rotation of the speedometer pointer (14). A moving index (3) is directly attached to the knob and is easily reset. The index may be of any shape including an angular segment (9) mounted to cover speed graduations, enabling easy reading of the speed not to be exceeded (11).
