Fabrics of desired stiffness are produced by including, in the warp or weft or both, yarns of the same diameter as the other yarns in the fabric, but composed of continuous man-made filaments of not less than 7¢ denier. Examples are given of ordinary viscose staple warp yarns alternating with continuous filament yarns made of 8 denier viscose or 7¢ denier cellulose acetate.
