Abstract

731,314. Wet doubling &c. machines. SCRAGG & SONS, Ltd., E., and DOBSON, A. March 10, 1954 [March 5, 1953], No. 6101/53. Class 120(2). A wet spinning or doubling machine is provided with a guide pulley on a pivoted arm for raising and lowering the yarn into a liquid bath in association with movements of a starting pedal. In one form, an arm 4 carrying a pulley 5 is mounted in a pivoted block 6 carried on the push rod 7 of a starting pedal. A slotted rearward extension of the arm 4 engages a fixed peg so that vertical movement of the rod 7 will cause a corresponding movement of the pulley 5. A modified arrangement for use with double sided machines has pulleys mounted on bellcrank arms pivoted at their rearward extremities and slotted intermediate their ends to receive pegs projecting from push rods.
