Abstract

A water resistive and insulating composition comprises a moisture and gas-free insulating material, e.g. quartz; and a resin free low vapour pressure silicone oil.ALSO:A paste-like insulating and water resistive composition is prepared by heating insulating material under reduced pressure to remove moisture and gases and mixing with a resin-free, low vapour pressure hydrocarbon grease or oil or silicone oil. In an example the ingredients are fused quartz and a hydrocarbon vacuum grease, e.g. "Apiezon" (Registered Trade Mark).
