Abstract

A flexible harrow 15 is marginally embraced by a closed rigid frame 27 whose front part is attachable at spaced points 23 to a tractormounted draw bar 20, the rear part of the frame being suspended from a tractor-mounted member 22 elevated above the drawbar, and the arrangement being such as to permit angular adjustment of the frame 27 about an axis perpendicular to its plane and passing substantially through the centre of pressure of the harrow. The drawbar and member 22 are integral and are carried by the power-operated draught-links 17, 18 of the tractor, the suspension member 30 for the frame comprising a chain. To adjust the frame angularly the drawbar, or the harrow, carries lugs 23 of different lengths engageable by clamps 29. The harrow links 24 are conventional and may have doubleended tines 25 so that by inversion of the frame 27 a different depth of harrowing may be obtained. Alternatively the links may be plain on one side so that inversion produces a chainharrow. In Fig. 6, the drawbar comprises a plate 35 having slots 37 in which the frame 27a is adjustably bolted, the member 21 comprising a rearwardly-extending jib to which the draughtlinks 17, 18 are anchored. In Figure 7. the drawbar and member 21 are combined into an elevated frame 38 from which the harrow-frame 15 is suspended by spaced chains 40, 41 of adjustable length. In Figure 9, several frames 15 are articulated together so that the outer ones can be folded over for transport, the drawbar 20, 20a being telescopic and connected to the frames by quadrants 44. Rigid stays 50 are connected to the top of the member 22 by a pivot to permit angular adjustment of the frames. Skids 52 may be mounted at the corners of the harrow-frames.
