A lid for fibreboard &c. drums is constructed from a disc 3 of fibreboard with a flange 4 and a metal hoopl which is folded over with the flange 4 so that it covers the inside 14 and top 15 of the wall of the dish member formed from the disc 3 and forms a skirt 12 to receive the end 16 of the container body.
