728.184. Wive terminals. AIRCRAFTMARINE PRODUCTS, Inc. April 28, 1953 [May 22, 1952], No. 11688/53. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXII] The cable-receiving ferrule of a terminal connector is formed from part 10 of a sheet-metal blank, the width W of this part being slightly greater than the circumference of the finished ferrule. The part is first bent as shown in Fig. 2 and then circumferentially compressed so that the edges 12, 14 of part 10 meet over substantially their whole width and the seam remains under compression after the pressure is removed, a bonding material being disposed in the seam, the excess bonding material being forced to the outside of the ferrule by the pressure in the seam. Specifications 585,507, 620,561 and 621,949 are referred to.
