Abstract
Fireproof stones are produced from sintered dolomite or other similar material by removing particles of a size below 0.25 mms. and pressing at a pressure whereby the resulting porosity has no capillaries. The stones may or may not be burned. The porosity of the starting material is below 10 per cent. The particles may all be of similar size. Without added binders pressures specified are 300-1500 k.g./c.m.2; with binders, the lower limit can be further lowered. Specification 444,878 is referred to.
