Abstract
727,020. Hygrometric apparatus. SAXTON (SAX-AIR), Ltd., R. K., and BIRD, M. E. C. Oct. 13, 1952 [July 12, 1951], No. 16505/51. Class 97 (3). A condensation detector mounted at the inner side of a window pane or other part of a building or vehicle directly exposed to the atmosphere within the latter and also to the outside air, comprises a flat plate of glass or other non-hygroscopic electrically insulating material of high thermal conductivity having one face cemented to said window pane or other part and provided at its exposed, condensing face with spaced electrodes connected in circuit with an electric warning device or apparatus for regulating the temperature within said building or vehicle. As shown, the detector comprises a glass plate A cemented to a window C. Two segments D of the plate are silvered and connected in circuit with an electrical controller G and with a hot air blower K. When moisture is deposited on the diametral strip a<SP>1</SP> of the plate the circuit through the controller G is completed and the blower is actuated until the room temperature has been raised above the dew point and moisture has evaporated from the strip a<SP>1</SP>. In another form the conducting areas D are connected in circuit with a bell or a warning lamp. Specification 531,734 is referred to.
