760,339. Heat insulation. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 30, 1953 [Oct. 30, 1952], No. 30060/53. Addition to 752,873. Class 64(2) In an insulating structure, a batt 21 of glass fibre is disposed between a pair of walls 15, 16 welded together at their edges 19, 20 while a non-flexible baffle 22, e.g. of L-section, is located between the batt and the welded joint to block entry of material from the batt into the weld area. The baffle may have its base welded to the wall 15 or be unsecured so that it is held in position by a perpendicular side wall 18 of the wall 16. The structure may be evacuated of air. Glass fibre such as that described in Specification 715,174 may compose the batt 21 and may be precompressed as described in Specification 715,175.
