726,449. Root crop harvesters. AKTIEBOLAGET ARVIKA-VEREEN. March 23, 1953 [March 28, 1952], No. 7963/53. Class 6 (3). A machine for harvesting root crops coxnprises an uprooter device 5 attached to the rear end of a member 3 which is pivotally connected to a laterally-extending beam 2 mounted on the tractor 1 the member 3 being capable of swinging movement in the lateral and vertical directions. guide wheels 8 being provided in front of the device 5 which is mounted on a transverse frame 4 which is adjustably supported by means of a chain 9 connected to a bar 10. The pressure exerted on the ground by the guide wheels is adjusted by altering the position of the chain 9 and altering the tension of a spring 13. In a modification the chain may be connected to a member slidable on the bar 10 and displaced by means of a screw device or a lever. The frame 4 may carry more than one uprooter device.
