Abstract
726,062. Injectors. BARTHOD, E. Jan. 16, 1953 [Jan. 16, 1952], No. 1389/53. Class 71. A water actuated injector for inducing liquid e.g. insecticide or detergent and delivering through an outlet nozzle 27, Fig. 1, comprises a body 1 having a water inlet 2 leading to a bore 5 which supplies a duct 25 controlled by valve 16 and discharging through one or more inclined passages 21 in the nozzle 22, a duct 7 also supplied from the bore 5 through a control valve 10, and an induced liquid inlet 29 having a control valve 33, Fig. 2, in a duct 38 leading to the duct 7 through which the liquid is induced by the working jet or jets 21. The mixture of water and liquid issues as a mist, but on screwing a cap 23 to the end of the nozzle 22 the mixture is atomized. The valve 10 is normally kept closed, but on opening the same to allow access of water to the duct 7, the valve 33 is forced on its seat 32 and injection ceases ; a straight through flow of water or a mist issuing from the nozzle 22 occurs according to whether valve 16 is closed or open and serves to clean the apparatus.
