725,891. Coil-making apparatus. COMPAGNIE ELECTRO-MECANIQUE. June 25, 1953 [Nov. 13, 1952], No. 17681/53. Class 35. A dummy rotor 1 for a machine for winding stators has radial slots 5 in which windings are placed so as to be transferred into corresponding stator slots 7 by exerting a radial force thereon. The slots 5 are formed with chamfered edges 6 and the width of these slots 5 is smaller than that of the inlet apertures of the stator slots 7. The dummy rotor is centred by means of tags having portions 8a, 8b. In order to wind stators having different axial lengths, each dummy rotor must have an axial length slightly greater than that of the corresponding stator, but the overall length of all the dummy rotor spindles is the same.
