Abstract
725,842. Motor-driving arrangements. BOSCH GES., R. March 17, 1953 [April 30, 1952], No. 7271/53. Class 35. [Also in Groups XXII and XXIII] A portable electrically driven hand tool such as a grinding or drilling machine has a metallic supporting member 41 carrying on one side a gear casing 31 and on the other side an electric motor 11 covered by an insulating cap 21, and an insulating member 17 clamped between the motor and the support 41 having a centreing surface(s) for the motor and being itself centred in the support 41. The latter is cast from light metal and is in the form of a tube open at both ends and having a perforated transverse wall 42. The motor 11 is mainly supported by the support 41 by bolts 43 threaded into a tension plate 20 having radial projections 20a engaging slots in the motor casing 16. The insulating plate 17 insulates the support 41 from the casing 16 and the bolts 43 are almost completely covered by insulating bushes 46, furthermore the insulating plate 17 has an annular groove 44 the outer walls of which help to centre the casing 16. The gear side bearing 15 of the motor shaft is located in a bore provided in the plate 17. At the inner end of the cap 21 there are mounted a condenser 27, a reversing switch 26 and contact springs 28, 29 engaging contact strips 52, 53, Fig. 3 (not shown), so as to form an electrical connection of the motor with the incoming leads 22 when the switch is on. With this mounting arrangement, the supply to the motor is completely cut off as soon as the cap 21 is removed.
