Abstract
1,226,273. Electrolytic de-burring tools. IFA GETRIEBEWERKE BRANDENBURG VEB. July 1, 1969, No.33074/69. Heading C7B. Apparatus for electro-chemically de-burring rotationally symmetrical workpieces comprises an electrolyte chamber 10 formed of insulating material, means for detachable mounting at least one workpiece 18 on a drive shaft 1 which extends through the wall of the electrolyte chamber and which is connected to one pole of an electric source, means for circulating electrolyte through the chamber, and an electrode assembly connected to the second pole of the electric source and comprising exchangeable electrodes and having associated therewith electrolyte guide means to which the electrolyte is supplied. The electrode assembly may also be provided with a mechanical burr-stripping device. In the form shown workpieces 18 are secured on drive shaft 1 which is rotated by motor 4, electrode tools 16 being positioned adjacent to the portions of the workpieces requiring de-burring. Current is supplied via transformer 22, and electrolyte is supplied from reservoir 13 by means of pump 74 and line 15 to the electrolyte guide means associated with the electrode tools, and is withdrawn from the chamber 10 via the outlet 17. The electrode may be provided with an insulated guide roller (29) contacting the surface of the workpiece Fig. 2 (not shown). Electrolyte supplied may pass through the electrodes or between the electrodes and associated structures. The electrode assembly may be arranged to extend within a hollow rotational workpiece for machining an inner surface thereof, see Fig. 7, (not shown).
