Abstract
725,095. Hair waving appliances; combs. MICHELE, F. Aug. 17, 1953 [June 19, 1953], No. 22566/53. Class 131. A hair waving comb having heated teeth comprises a tubular back member connectable at one end to a source of hot air and having at least one vent hole at the other end, the bases of the teeth being mounted within the tubular back. As shown, the tubular back 1. has a vent hole 2 at the forward end and a longitudinal slot 3 through which teeth 4 protrude, the bases of the teeth being welded to the inner wall of the tubular back. A hand grip 9 of wood &c. is secured round a tubular member 6 connectable to a supply of hot air such as the supply tube of an electric hair dryer and apertured at 8 for the escape of excess hot air which is deflected from the scalp by a disc 5 and a collar 14 of heat-insulating material. A shroud 11 of heat insulating material having a vent hole 12 and slot 13, registering with the vent hole 2 and slot 3 respectively, confines the heating to the comb teeth.
