Abstract
724,917. Extruding. FELTEN & GUILLEAUME CARLSWERK AKT.-CES. Jan. 22, 1953 [April 9, 1952], No. 1900/53. Class 83 (4). A metal extrusion press, particularly for sheathing cables with aluminium, has a billet container 1 whose inner wall is provided with crescent-like depressions 2 for receiving the residue air present in the container, from which depressions the aluminium residues penetrated by the air are removed after the extrusion process. These aluminium residues containing air, which are pressed into the depressions during the extrusion, are severed from the remainder of the billet by the sharp end of the plunger 6 and are removed from the depressions by plungers 4 operated hydraulically.
