Abstract

724,122. Textile spinning machines. SAGEHOMME. G. E. M. May 28, 1952 [May 29, 1951], No. 13567/52. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). A spinning machine providing a constant wind-on speed has means for positively driving a spindle and a ring flyer so that the speed of one of these elements is the sum of a constant speed and a variable speed, the latter being dependent on the instantaneous diameter of the package, and means for regulating the speed of winding to the speed of roving or slubbing delivery to obtain a predetermined amount of draft. Roving or slubbing delivered by rollers 2, 3 is passed through twist control means 17 to a stationary but adjustable thread guide 32 and thence to the guide eye of a ring-flyer 6, from which it passes to the thread package 11, rotated by the spindle 4, which is driven by an electric motor 20, through the shaft 15 and by positive transmission means. The ring-flyer 6 is also positively driven. In order to provide the necessary variable speeds, the motor 20 drives the ring flyer 6 through a differential gear 13 provided with a crown wheel 12 that is rotated by a motor 21 controlled by an electronic device 22. Into the device 22 are fed signals from the builder motion 8 and from the delivery roller 2. The speed of the roller 2 may be manually varied before the operation is started by a wheel 49 and the speed of the spindles is varied by a handwheel 45. A hand wheel 46 is used for regulating a variable speed device 24, preferably an electric motor, that drives the roller 2 and builder motion 8. Suitably calibrated revolution counters 42 are provided for facilitating control of the speeds of the spindle and of production.
