A stop button for fitting to a chain having links 4 comprises a body 1 completely embracing the chain and capable of sliding along it, and a locking part 7 removably secured within the body so as to prevent the button moving from its position. Additionally, a shoulder may be placed between adjacent links. Alternatively the button may be made in two equal parts positioned around the chain and held together by a sleeve which screws over said parts.
