A chain link is formed of two separable U- shaped halves 7, 8 joined by connectors 5, 6 each of which consists of a right-hand threaded portion 1 and a left-hand threaded portion 2 which co-operate with corresponding threaded bores in the link halves. The assembled link has the form of a simple closed loop of uniform cross-section, so as to be indistinguishable in use from the simple links of chains to which it may be attached.
