Abstract
721,841. Milling-cutters. BROWN & SONS (HUDDERSFIELD), Ltd., D. June 12, 1953 [June 12, 1952], No. 14781/52. Drawings to Specification. Class 83. (3). A gear-cutting hob comprises a commencing tooth of full width but of small height, the further teeth being successively of narrower base width and greater height until the full height is reached. The hob is designed so that each tooth removes the same amount of metal. The hob may have one or more finishing teeth to give a smooth contour to the teeth of the work. The Provisional Specification states that the teeth may be of constant base width.
