721,575. Packaging. HORLICKS, Ltd. Oct. 29, 1953 [Oct. 29, 1952], No. 27206/52. Class 94 (1). A package containing an elongated pile of units of a product such as tablets 9, Fig. 3, or 19, Fig. 7, comprises a container 18, Fig. 7, having a series of spacers 20 extending across the width of the container with their peripheral portions secured to the inner surface of the container, the spacers 20 dividing the container into a series of air-tight compartments each housing one unit of the product. The container shown in Fig. 7 is a preformed light weight metal tube, that shown in Fig. 3 is made by enclosing the units and spacers in two sheets 13 of metal foil laminate each of which is longer than the pile of tablets 9 and has free end portions 12 and each of which is slightly greater in width than half the circumference of the discs 10, 11 so that there are free side edge portions 14. The peripheries of the disc are sealed to the foil laminate, and the free edges 12, 14 are sealed together by heat sealing. Alternatively the pile of tablets and spacers may be wrapped in a single sheet of foil. Cuts or score marks 15, 23 may be provided to facilitate opening and the spacers may be provided on one flat surface with a tab by which it may be pulled away.
