Class 65 (2): [Also in Group XI] A hot-plate 3 is movably located in an opening of the top 1 of an electric cooker by a hinge link 15 one end of which is pivoted by a hinge pin 14 to a bracket 13 rivetted or welded to a flange 4 of the cooker top 1, the other end of the link 15 being pivoted by a hinge pin 16 to a bracket 17 attached to the sheaths 11 of the hot-plate where it is bent down below the cooker top, so arranged that the link 15 is normally substantially vertical and allows the hot-plate to be pivoted up and moved laterally. The terminal part 11 of the heater is bent down and outwardly beyond the area of the opening and may be connected to a terminal block on a flange 18 formed as an integral part of the bracket 17. A flexible earthing strap 20 is welded at one end to a projection 21 of the bracket 13 and at the other end of a projection 19 on the bracket 18.
