720,690. Sieves. GRAEPEL, F. Feb. 10, 1953 [Oct. 16, 1952], No. 3736/53. Class 117. A sieve of sheet-metal has the apertures formed with lips a, Figs. 1, 3, bent upwards, and lips c bent downwards, the lips a having channels b, Fig. 1, or e, Fig. 4. The sieve is intended to be used with an air blast passing from the lower side through to the upper side and carrying away the lighter particles and the channels b, e are stated to concentrate the blast. The heavier particles fall through the sieve. The edge of the lip c is preferably bent outwards as shown in Fig. 3.
