Abstract
718,954. Aerials. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 15, 1953 [Jan. 18, 1952], No. 1240/53. Class 40 (7) An electrical connectior device suitable for a frame aerial capable of rotatior through a limited angle con sists of two support members A and B, one of which is stationary and the other capable of rotation, with connecting wires F extend ing substantially parallel to the axis of rotation and spaced from each other connected at their ends to the supports and tensioned by means of resilient members such as the springs V. The supports are preferably made tubular with one arranged inside the other as shown and the wires carried through spaced holes in ar insulating end piece P to connectors D at one end and spring tensioned at the other. The springs V may be inserted in cavities L in the support B and press against shoulder pieces T fixed to the conductors F and free to move laterally. The tube A may be rotated by means of pulley C. If the angle of rotation of the moving part is large insulating discs may be provided to space the conductors F from each other and may be mounted on a central insulating rod to prevent the conductors touching each other in the extreme twisted positions, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown).
