717,629. Conduits. NEW ERA INDUSTRIES (TOTTENHAM), Ltd., and PICKESS, A. R. July 21, 1953, [ July 21, 1952.] No. 18367/52. Class 36. A conduit comprises a trough-like base 1 and a cover 2 fitted one over the other and provided with inter-engagable longitudinal proud and channeled parts, and means adjustable from outside the conduit to press the interengaging parts together. The walls 4 of base 1 may have shallow, longitudinal channels 6 formed therein, rims 7 above the channels being displaced inwardly by a distance equal to the thickness of flanges 3 on cover 2. The lower edges of flanges 3 are turned inwardly to form beadings 8 which engage with channels 6 to secure the cover on the base. The cover may be formed with indentations 10 each having a threaded aperture through which a screw 9 is inserted to abut against rim 7, or screws having plain tapered ends Fig. 3 (not shown) may be screwed through bosses on the cover so that the tapered ends wedge against the bowed inner surfaces of walls 4.
