Abstract
716,925. Endless conveyers. BAMMANN, H. June 10, 1952, No. 14538/52, Class 78 (i). A conveyer for agricultural products such as sugar beet, potatoes or the like comprising an endless conveyer element built-up of bars 2 arranged in grating fashion, some of these bars being supported at their ends by rollers I running on rails 12, and overlapping side plates 3 arranged along each side of the conveyer element and mounted at their ends on bars i o of the grating, is characterized in that metal sheets 6 extending transversely to the direction of conveying are pivotally connected to the bars 10 so that they lie below the element when this is horizontal, and are so guided that, on transition of the conveyer element from the horizontal to the vertical direction of conveying, they are forced through the conveyer element from below and act as supporting members for the material being elevated. The sheets 6 are supported from the bars 10 by levers 7 and slide on the bottom of a channel 4 which is so arranged that the distance between the bottom of the channel and the conveyer element diminishes during the transition from the horizontal to the vertical direction of conveying whereby the sheets are projected into the space above the conveyer element. This movement of the sheets is assisted by rollers 8 on the levers 7 engaging guide rails 9 on the inner walls of the channel 4. Dirt is freed from the bars 2 by discs II disposed side-by-side at various points along the conveyer path and having teeth which project into the spaces between the bars, the discs being moved to and fro transversely to the direction of conveying.
