Class 18 In a magazine from which blades are ddscharged by a feed slide, the ends of the blades remote from the exit are held depressed clear of the slide until released one at a time, by a forward stroke of the slide, to take up a position for discharge on the next forward stroke. The blades are contained in a refill unit, Fig. 2, comprising a base 32 carrying posts 35 having slots engaged by a cover 40, the cover holding down the blade stack against a spring 46. The refill unit slides into the magazine case 18, already carrying the feed slide 29, and is secured by pins 34 engaging recesses 28 in the casing, and a detent on the casing engaging a notch 33 in the unit. The first forward stroke of the slide 29 slides the cover 40 clear of the magazine, permitting the blade stack to rise against stops 27 on the case at one end and flanges 20, 21 of the case at the other. The blades each have openings 13. staggered in adjacent blades, Fig. 10, near the magazine exit, and in the final forward movement of the slide, one spur 31, Fig. 5, engages the opening 13 of the uppermost blade to draw it clear of the stops 27 to lie against the flanges 20, 21. The slide is returned, and in its next forward stroke, the uppermost blade is engaged by the slide's forward face 30 and discharged and the next blade is pulled clear of the stops 27 by a spur 31. The holes 13 may be replaced by an assymmetrical enlargement of the normal slot at one end.
