Abstract

Shaped concrete articles are obtained by dry heating at 300 to 550 DEG F for at least one hour a pre-set moulded or cast mix of cement and finely divided silica. The latter is defined as at least 95 per cent. will pass through a sieve having 170 meshes per linear inch. The silica may be sand, fuel ash or flue dust. The mix is made cellular by adding frothing agents as in Specifications 546,335 and 546,645.
