[Class 50] Fuel blocks are composed of a relatively large proportion of coal dust together with coke breeze and cement. A preferable volumetric composition consists of 64 per cent coal dust, 30 per cent coke breeze and 6 per cent cement. Finely sieved breeze, coal dust, and cement are mixed with liquid, e.g. water and the plastic mass is moulded, the blocks being hardened in the moulds or by stacking or exposure to air or a drying medium. Waste products in building brick manufacture comprising a large proportion of cement combined with breeze obtained from coke and coal may be utilized.
