714,130. Electric toasters. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 6, 1952 [Oct. 5, 1951], No. 24985/52. Class 28(1) In an electric toaster, e.g. as described in Specification 714,129, movement of the toaster carriage from the toasting position to the non-toasting position is retarded by means of a weighted pivoted arm member and a fixed member, one of the members being on the toaster frame and the other on the toaster carriage and one having an undular slot and the other having a guide member, riding in the slot. As shown, Fig. 1, an arm 22 is pivoted on a plate 8 of the toaster carriage and carries a weight 24 and a pin 25 which engages a sinusoidal slot 27 in a post 4 of the toaster frame. In a modification, Fig. 6, a pivoted lever 22a carries a weight 24a and has a sinusoidal slot in which a pin 25a, car ried on the toaster frame, engages.
