816,115. Weighing apparatus. WEIGHMASTER SCALES Ltd.July 15,1957 [June 20, 1956], No. 19092/56. Class 143 An automatic price computing scale has an indicating drum 29 provided with computed price indicia on its face 44 which are scanned by an optical device 59 movable across face 44 on guide, tracks 56, 57 to positions corresponding with the selected basic price marked on bar 58. The device comprises a lens system 63 and a mirror 61 which project the computed value and the basic price indicia on to a screen 65. The device is moved along the tracks by a lever 81 pivoted to the scale frame at 82 and connected to the device by a pin and slot 79, 80. Bulbs 73 are illuminated only when the pan 4 is loaded by adjustable contacts (riot shown) operated by beam 7. Drum 29 carries two sets of weight indicia (not shown) around its cylindrical surface which are viewed through stationary apertures on opposite sides of the scale. Spring scales.-The pan 4 which is provided with stay mechanism 9-14 is supported at 8 on a beam 7 fulcrummed at 21 and connected at 34 to the lower ends of a pair of adjustable springs 38. The scale is damped by a dash pot 19.
