Abstract
714,015. Spray carburetters; treating charge. SABETAY, D. Oct. 22, 1952 [Feb. 28, 1952], No. 5285/52. Classes 7(2) and 7(3) A fuel-air mixture is prepared by adding to fuel in a vapour or gaseous state air including oxygen in an active state, i.e. ozone or nascent oxygen, and the mixture is subjected to the action of magnetic forces. A mixture of air and ozone from an ozonizing apparatus 1 is mixed with fuel vaporized or gasified by heated plates 9, 10, arranged immediately adjacent a fuel nozzle 7. The ozoniser 1 comprises earthed tubes 4 each with a central electrode 5 at a voltage of e.g. 10,000 to 15,000 volts obtained from an engine ignition coil, and the plates 9, 10, are preferably of copper or brass heated electrically. The mixture of air, ozone, and fuel vapour flowing to the engine is directed by a deflector 15 to drive a mixing wheel 14 arranged in the magnetic field between the poles 11, 12 of an electromagnet or permanent magnet. The mixture next passes through the electrical field between two electrodes 16, 17 connected to an accumulator so as to have a potential difference of six to twenty-four volts. The ozone may be added after the vaporized fuel is mixed with air, and the mixing wheel 14 may be positively driven. The supply of fuel to the nozzle 7 may also be controlled according to engine speed or by a cam associated with the accelerator lever. The Provisional Specification also states that the mixture is passed between a system of plates maintained in oscillation by electromagnetic means and through a chamber in which an electromagnetic field is set up by an induction coil.
