Abstract

713,444. Electromagnetic relays. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. June 9, 1952 [June 16, 1951], No. 14320/51. Class 38(5) In a relay designed to eliminate contact bounce and in which the armature 20 is mounted on a blade spring 15 and pivots about one pole of a U-shaped electromagnet 16, the moving contact is mounted on a separate spring 26 which engages a slot in the end of an insulating member 19 carried by the armature. The contact 26 moves between a fixed contact screw 28 and a contact carried on a J-shaped spring 31 the position of which is determined by a screw 34. The spring 26 is a light spring and is biased by a stronger spring 27 and the spring 15 is pressed against the pole 16 by a spring 21 adjustably tensioned by a screw 22. Contact bounce on release may be further reduced by short-circuiting the left-hand coil of the electromagnet 16, Fig. 1. Specification 405,436 is referred to.
