Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4) Angular bending; forging.-In making a crankshaft &c. a bar is gripped in clamps 45, 46 and heated by electricity or otherwise to a deforming temperature. The clamps are then moved at right-angles by fluid cylinders to bend the shaft and recessed faces of the clamps contact to shape the crank web. Specification 690,872 is referred to.
