Abstract
709,241. Mine roof supporting bars. DIRECTIE VAN DE STAATSMIJNEN IN LIMBURG. March 3, 1952 [March 7, 1951], No. 5535/52. Class 20 (2) One mine roof supporting bar 7 is pivotally connected by pin 6 and hole 3 to another bar 1 and is supported therefrom by a bar shoe 8 rockably suspended by hooks 9 engaging a pin 4 on the bar 1, the shoe 8 having a thrust screw 10 adapted to bear against the lower flange of the bar 1 for adjusting the relative angular positions of the bars. Alternatively the screw 10 may be arranged at a point in the shoe 8 to press directly against the bar 7 and the screw head arranged to take a reaction from the bar 1.
