708,634. Safety seats for aircraft. WHITING, J. R. STURGE-. April 15, 1952 [Jan. 22, 1951], No. 1585/51. Class 4 An aircraft seat is supported against displacement forwardly of an aircraft by a cable or cables, anchored to the seat or member attached to the seat or a safety belt running towards the after end of the fuselage. In Fig. 1 the cables D, D are attached to the seat at H, and to the floor, reinforced by U-shaped channels C, by anchors M, M. The cables are held down by light tacking at F, F, which fails when a forward shock load is imposed on the seat, which is mounted on runners allowing forward movement of a few inches. The cables may be elastic. In Fig. 2 (not shown), the seat faces forwardly and the cables are attached to a safety belt.
