708,289. Loom warp beam braking dervices. FISCHER AKT.-GES.. G. July 26. 1951 [Aug. 3, 1950], No. 17783/51. Class 142(2) The braking effect of shoes 6, 9 due to a compression spring 22, is relieved as the warp diameter diminishes, by a feeler 42 reducing the spring compression. The, feeler pivots about the axis of a rod 38, to which it is secured, and the rod carries an arm 36 having a pivot 35 adjustable in a slot 45 by a screw 49. The pivot 35 supports a rod 30 connected to the means compressing the spring. The spring compression is also variable for different warps by a wing nut 23. Different springs 22 may be fitted for different warp threads. A toggle 19 permits quick release of the, brake. The feeler motion may be transmitted by a cam 59 mounted on the shaft, 38 acting on a follower 57 on the shaft 30. With this arrangement the cam 59 would have to be changed with the spring.
