Abstract

708,261. Kinematograph projectors. HEAL, L. C. March 10, 1952 [March 9, 1951], No. 5731/51. Class 97(1) A reversible film winding means comprises a rockable support, a main driving element and at least two rotatable motion transmitting elements mounted on the support, the motion transmitting elements being adapted to be driven from the driving element, means for rotating said element and a pair of spool driving elements alternatively engaged with the respective motion transmitting elements by rocking the rockable support. In the form shown the member 1 is pivoted on the spindle 9 of the winding handle 10 and carries discs 4, 5 on spindles 6, 7 in slotted holes 8. The discs 4, 5 engage frictionally a disc 3 secured to the shaft 9. Friction pads are provided between the disc 3 and the supporting member 1 so that as the handle is turned the member turns in the same direction to engage one of the discs 4, 5 with one of two discs 14, 15 which drive the film spools directly or through belts. The disc 3 may be belt driven from the handle. The projection system 25 incorporates an optical compensator coupled to a film driven sprocket. A masking frame 26 is provided.
