Abstract
707,858. Insulators. MOSER-GLASER & CO., AKT.-GES. Sept. 29, 1952 [Sept. 28, 1951], No. 24371/52. Class 36 A bushing insulator comprises two coaxial parts formed entirely of solid material, the outer one surrounding at least a portion of the length of the inner, and having a dielectric constant substantially greater than that of the inner part. The inner part preferably consists of a moulded synthetic resin and the outer part may consist of the same resin or of ceramic material, additional material such as titanium dioxide or one or more titanates being incorporated to raise the dielectric constant. The transition from low to high dielectric constant may occur gradually, and a layer of elastic material may be interposed between a conductor and the inner part, or between the two parts. Alternatively, the inner part may be of elastic material. The insulator may be integrally moulded with the apparatus on which it is mounted.
