Class 20 (2) Mine roof support beams comprise projections provided by a welded on plate 4 which supports a bracket 5 on which a roof support beam 2 is adapted to be slid forward into position. The plate 4 extends along only part of the beam. The beam 2 is supported on the bracket by wedges 9, 10. The bracket is released from the plate 4 by sliding it along the beam or by turning it clockwise relative to the beam. A modification is shown with box-section beams.
