Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4) Making pipes ; stretching. - Apparatus for the cold percussion extrusion of metal sections, for example, metal tubing, comprises a ram, a die mounted to project axially from the machine frame, means for holding a metal slug in the operative position for extrusion, means for driving the ram towards and away from the die and a mechanical grab which, on completion of extrusion, is moved to grab the extruded section and immediately thereafter is moved away from the die to stretch and straighten the extruded section prior to the discard being severed from the face of the die. The apparatus and its operation is fully described in Specification 704,751.
