Abstract

Indurated pellets of finely divided ore material, e.g. oxidic iron ore concentrates, are produced by forming a plastic mixture of the ore material and water with the addition of up to 10 lbs. per ton, preferably 1-5 lbs. per ton, dry weight of starch, pelletizing the plastic mixture by prolonged rolling action in an inclined rotary drum, and subjecting the pellets to an indurating heat treatment. Prior to the heat treatment. the pellets may be dusted with oxidic iron ore fines and heat dried. Specifications 628,355 and 631,217 are referred to.
