703,866. Heat-insulated flasks. SHIPTON & CO., Ltd., E. Dec. 4, 1951 [June 21, 1951], No. 14752/51. Class 64(2) A double - walled heat-insulated flash comprises an inner container moulded from a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as polythene, enclosed in an outer container 3, also moulded from a thermoplastic synthetic resin, having a closed bottom and an open top sufficiently wide to permit the passage of the inner container, the two being secured together in spaced relation by a member 5, made of a thermosetting synthetic resin such as phenol- or urea-formaldehyde, and formed to extend outwardly from the inner container and to engage the wall and close the end of the outer container. The member 5 may be moulded around the neck of the inner container to ensure a close fit, and is provided with a collar having internal and external screw threads respectively engaging the neck of the outer container and a cup-like lid 11, the arrangement being such that the outer surfaces of the lid and outer container are flush with one another. The annular space between the containers may be filled with a heatinsulating material such as cork or asbestos dust.
