700,950. Welding by fusion. ROCKWELD. Ltd., and BOAG, D. J. W. Aug. 8, 1952 [Sept. 17, 1951], No. 21785/51. Class 83 (4) In a continuous welding electrode having a metal core, a metal sheath wound on the core and comprising a single layer of two or more spaced wires wound helically and unidirectionally to form a plurality of cells between adjacent wires and a coating of flux incorporated in the sheath the core has a diameter which does not exceed 0.128 inch and the sheath wires have a diameter between 0.032 inch and 0.092 inch. Two, three, four or more sheath wires may be employed and may be of the same material as the core, e.g. mild steel, or may be of different material.
