Abstract

700,725. Luminescent screens. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS, Inc. Oct. 12,1951 [Oct. 19, 1950], No. 23864/51. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(1) A permanganate is included in the dispersion solution used in settling a luminescent material through a liquid to form a screen. In the examples, potassium permanganate in 2.5-15 per cent solution is admixed with the binders, gelling agents and the luminescent material either simultaneously or at different stages. The binder may be potassium silicate with acetic acid, a silicate gelled by an ammonium compound, phosphoric acid or boric acid.
